Hoya caudata is a distinctive species known for its rugged leaf texture and dramatic silver splashing. Its leaves are long, irregular, and slightly rough to the touch, often edged or mottled with silvery or cream speckles that give each one a unique character. As it grows, H. caudata forms a loose, trailing vine that looks striking on shelves, trellises, or in hanging planters.

Native to the tropical forests of Thailand, Malaysia, and surrounding regions, this species thrives in warm temperatures, bright filtered light, and excellent airflow. Provide a chunky, fast-draining Hoya mix and allow the plant to dry slightly between waterings. With patience and good light, it rewards growers with clusters of fuzzy, white, and pink blooms that smell sweet and slightly spicy.

Fun fact: Hoya caudata is known for producing some of the “furriest” blooms in the genus—its flowers have a soft, velvety texture that contrasts beautifully with its tough, mottled foliage.
