Syngonium podophyllum 'Batik' gets its namesake from an Indonesian method of dyeing cloth with wax. Its green arrowhead-shaped leaves are adorned with a lace-like pattern of yellow veins. This plant is easy to care for and a vigorous, fast grower.
These plants are moderately drought-tolerant but prefer regular watering. During the spring and summer, while the plant is actively growing, water when the top inch of soil is dry to the touch. If you stick your finger in the top inch of soil and feel dry, it’s time to water, probably once weekly. The soil should be light and free-draining. This vine will grow well in dappled shade in sub-tropical climates, given adequate support on which to climb.
